Mickey Williams

Mickey Williams recently retired as Chief of Police for the City of Carlsbad after a 28-year career with law enforcement. During Mickey’s tenure in policing, he gained decades of experience conducting, supervising, and managing complicated and delicate criminal and administrative investigations. Over the past eight years, Mickey has worked in an executive role managing, reviewing, and determining appropriate dispositions for administrative investigations. In this executive role, Mickey frequently served as a Skelly Officer for related administrative actions. Mickey also served in elected positions within the Police Officers’ Association providing representation for employees engaged in administrative investigations and participated in collective bargaining negotiations.

Mickey earned his Juris Doctorate from Northwestern California University School of Law. Mickey also possesses a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration, both from San Diego State University. Additionally, Mickey has attended the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and the Los Angeles Police Department Leadership Program (formerly known as West Point Leadership Program).

Mickey teaches at the University of San Diego and Point Loma Nazarene University. In his free time, Mickey loves to golf with his wife and go on long walks.
